Showcase Tacoma 2007
Showcase Tacoma 2007
We were excited to be doing Showcase Tacoma for a second year. For our 2006 images or blogs click the links above.
We were back with the same team we had the pleasure of working with in 2006. Phedra Redifer was planning and coordinating the event, Kareem Kandi was programming all of the musical entertainment. This year we added a dance stage which was planned and coordinated by Mary Mabry.
Warren Crain from The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts coordinated the installation of the Dance stage, which we errected next to the Main Stage at Tollefson Plaza. Warren also designed and built the Main Stage from the Narrows Bridge Opening. See the narrows Bridge Blog Here and Pictures here.
This year we had no tent for local art in the plaza (there was no where to fit it with the two stages) and due to construction we cut the UWT stage. However the addition of the dance stage really made up for anything we cut.
One of the coolest things we did this year was to provide delay speakers on the other side of the sound transit link light rail. We had to use our wireless link, because there was no way to run an audio cable across the rail tracks. The sound quality there was superb and we found no interference or quality loss when the link light rail passed between the mix position and the speakers.
Again, it was an event we were proud to work on.
